Everything Halo does

The full college application workspace, from first idea to final submission.

01

AI Essay Scoring

Every essay scored the way an admissions officer would.

A 0 to 100 score and a clear band across 8 to 9 weighted rubric dimensions, calibrated to researched, school-specific rubrics built from data on 1,300+ admitted students and 150+ admissions officers. You also get a School Match score, a projected score that shows how far you are from the next tier, and a built-in authenticity check that flags AI-sounding writing without penalizing a genuine voice.

02

Line-by-Line Feedback and AI Coach

Know exactly what to fix and what to keep.

Inline notes tied to each rubric dimension, a ranked "Where to start" list of the highest-impact fixes, and a "What to keep" list of your strongest moments so revision never buries what already works. Chat with an AI coach about any single note, like a counselor on call while you write.

03

Inline Writing Tools

Polish, trim, and fix without leaving the page.

Polish cleans up grammar and redundancy. Angelo brings you under the word limit while preserving your voice. A mismatch scanner catches leftover references to the wrong school in a reused draft, and Get Unstuck gives direction when a draft stalls. Every change lands as an accept or reject edit right in the editor.

04

The Writing Workspace

As native as Google Docs, built for applications.

A fast, familiar editor with autosave and offline recovery for your Common App personal statement, UC PIQs, and every school supplemental. Full version history with word-level diffs and one-click restore, reuse of an essay across prompts, and export to PDF or Word. Share a draft for feedback and reviewers can leave inline suggestions you accept or reject, with live presence as they read.

05

Brainstorming Games

Creative games that surface your best stories.

A library of 9 interactive AI games, from Pawn Stars where you pitch a meaningful object to Two Truths and a Lie where an interrogator calls your bluff. Each one is built to pull ideas out of you that a blank page never could.

06

Your Story and Idea Bank

Halo learns your story and hands you the ideas.

Halo synthesizes your themes, values, and authentic voice from everything you do, then suggests tailored essay angles drawn from your own material. When something you wrote could become an essay, it tells you.

07

Application Profile and Analysis

See how your whole application stacks up.

Build your Common App and UC activities and honors with trim-to-fit and order optimization. Once your essays are in, Halo generates a per-school analysis of your entire application: how well you align with what each school looks for, an essay-portfolio scorecard, the gaps that matter most, and specific ways to strengthen your candidacy.

08

Smart Planning Calendar

A plan that keeps itself on track.

Enter your schools, rank them by priority, and Halo builds a deadline-driven calendar from first draft to final submission. Tasks check themselves off as you write, the plan self-heals when your list or timeline changes, and it refuses to let you cram. A recommendation-letter tracker keeps your recommenders on schedule too.

09

School List and Fit

Build a balanced list that actually fits you.

Reach, target, and safety recommendations with an admission-odds match percentage, major-aware program fit, a preference-based Fit Score, and campus-vibe matching. Halo suggests, but you always decide what makes the cut.

10

Research Hub

Make sense of your research and know what to look for next.

Halo does not do the research for you. Smart Link AI turns any webpage or YouTube link you paste into a clean summary so you can synthesize what you have already found, and a proactive research agent ties each note back to your profile and points you to what is worth researching next, automatically. It also pulls condensed key stats like acceptance rates, score ranges, and test policies so you are not digging through ten different sites.

11

Parent Dashboard

Peace of mind without hovering.

Included at no extra charge. Parents get their own login to follow progress, and, if the student allows, scores, but never the essay text itself. A weekly "how to help" tip and the option to gift Premium round it out.
